Internal Department TrainingOfficer and Instructor at Firearms Range

This includes development, identification, and scheduling of training and professional development programs for department members. Examples of these types of programs are state mandated police inservice training, campus mandated supervisor training, update training for critical police skills instructors, security basic training program, and the various specialized training programs that department members attend to learn new skills and stay current in their respective fields.

Department trainers also provide critical police skills training to other local law enforcement agencies.

The Department has WI. Dept. of Justice certified trainers in the areas of:

External Customer Training

The Department has several different types of training/education programs that we offer to the university community. Most of the programs are offered free of charge and can be customized for the particular request.

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention - A two day certified program geared for persons that have contact with irate people or persons in crisis.
  • Workplace Violence
  • Personal and Physical Security
  • Speakers on various police, security or personal safety issues
